Our client, needed a reliable and scalable solution for monitoring air quality and detecting water leaks across their property portfolio. They wanted a system that could provide real-time insights into air quality (including CO₂, particulate matter, and VOC levels) and quickly detect water leaks to prevent costly damage. The client sought a low-maintenance solution with minimal power requirements that could transmit data reliably over long distances.

Challenges

Challenges with Physical Cabling: Traditional, wired sensors would have required extensive physical cabling throughout the buildings, an approach that was both costly and impractical for the client. Physical cabling would have involved significant labor, disruption to daily operations, and ongoing maintenance challenges. High Maintenance Costs for Battery Replacement: With the high volume of sensors required, frequent battery replacements posed a significant operational cost and maintenance challenge. The client needed a solution with extended battery life to minimize maintenance demands. Need for a Unified Monitoring Platform: The client struggled to manage multiple, disconnected monitoring systems for various environmental and safety sensors across their sites. They needed a single, unified platform to integrate and monitor air quality and water leak data across all locations, allowing for efficient oversight and streamlined response.

Solution

Wireless LoRaWAN Sensors with Extended Battery Life: We deployed low-power LoRaWAN sensors with a battery life of several years, eliminating the need for frequent replacements and minimizing ongoing maintenance costs. These sensors provided long-range transmission capabilities, ensuring reliable data transmission even in areas where physical cabling was impractical. Unified Monitoring Platform: All sensors were integrated into a centralized monitoring platform, allowing the client to manage air quality and water leak detection from a single interface. The platform provided real-time monitoring, trend analysis, and alerts, streamlining oversight and facilitating prompt responses across multiple facilities.
